Yulia Tymoshenko, the former Prime Minister, leader of the opposition Batkivshchyna party, who has been staying in the Lukyanivsky detention center since August 5, 2011, has undergone medical examination on Wednesday, Health Minister Oleksandr Anishchenko told reporters in Kyiv, according to UKRINFORM.
"Tymoshenko has been examined today at one of Kyiv's hospitals. A complete examination was conducted in accordance with the recommendations given," he emphasized.
According to Anishchenko, all data on the examination have been submitted to the penitentiary office.
At the same time, the health minister refused to comment on the health of Tymoshenko and specify the hospital.
Earlier, Tymoshenko's lawyers stated that over two weeks the ex-premier in jail had not received medical care and almost did not get up.
Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Nina Karpachova on Monday said Tymoshenko was in extremely critical condition and that she needs to be examined outside prison.
