The European Union is not going to apply sanctions against Ukraine in connection with the conviction of the former PM Yulia Tymoshenko, EU representative Myroslav Lajcak told Ukrainian Channel 5.
"We are not talking about applying sanctions. We don't even think about it. Ukraine is an important partner within European partnership, a state with which we are at advanced stage of preparation of Association agreement and free trade area, a state which is presiding in the Council of Europe," he said.
