The head of the National bank of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov made a statement regarding temporary simplification of currency exchange procedure for private persons.
According to him, taking into account the development of rate situation, technical unpreparedness of some banks and forthcoming championship Euro-2012 the National Bank introduce temporary changes to the currency exchange procedure.
"First. The banks are allowed to buy currency from private persons regardless their residence, but with obligatory presentation of ID document. The copy of the ID document is not necessary.
Second. A private person, who confirmed his or her residence, can receive a certificate from a bank, insuring the return currency exchange," the statement says.
The NBU head underlined that these changes are temporary and will be valid till the end of Euro-2012 championship.
