Energy minister of Ukraine Yuri Boiko believes that the conviction of former PM Yulia Tymoshenko will not affect the course of gas price negotiations with Gazprom.

"We are holding constructive dialogue with our colleagues in Gazprom in accordance with agreements, reached by the authorities," the Minister told journalists, ForUm correspondent reports.

In response to ForUm's question whether yesterday's criticizing statement of Russian PM Vladimir Putin can affect the talks, Boiko said: "We cannot comment on statements of Russian Prime Minister, but the dialogue with Russian colleagues is constructive."

Boiko also added that lawyers of the ministry would study the issue regarding compensation of losses to Naftogaz by Tymoshenko, in accordance with the court decision. The minister underlined that these means would be used as payment for gas supplies.
