Monday, September 3 the Central Election Commission (CEC) has presented the automated information-telecommunications system "State Register of Voters" on the occasion of the second anniversary of its entry into service, ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, CEC deputy chief Zhanna Usenko-Chorna noted that the Central Election Commission has successfully implemented all the measures necessary for the introduction in Ukraine of the unprecedented in terms of scale and complexity State Register of Voters, designed to protect our citizens from election fraud.

The official also added that the results of the work on the State Register of Voters deserve to be included into the Guinness record book of Ukraine.
The head of the managing service of the State register Artur Vitrenko informed that the data of the Register had been used for the presidential election of 2010, for parliamentary election in Crimea, and for elections into local self-governments around Ukraine.

In turn, the deputy chairman of the Register Administration Service, Oleksandr Stelmakh, added that representatives of political parties are eligible to receive a copy of the database of the State Register of Voters for the purpose of control. Thus, according to him, in 2009, electronic copies of the databases were given to 8 presidential runners and 5 parties. During the 2010 local elections, only one party expressed a desire to obtain such a database, and in the first 9 months of 2011 - none. According to Stelmakh, this indicates that policy makers are convinced of the impossibility of influencing the State Register of Voters.

Stelmakh also voiced a number of interesting facts. In particular, the majority of men-voters are named Oleksandr, Volodymyr and Serhy, and women-voters are Tetiana, Maria and Elena. The number of women-voters is 10% more than men.
