Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has not support a decision on urgent debates on Ukraine, the head of the Russian delegation to PACE Konstantin Kosachev told journalists in Strasburg.

"This initiative has got support," he said, according to UNIAN.

According to Kosachev, he personally also voted against the debates, despite a number of questions to Ukraine on the case of ex-PM Yulia Tymoshenko.

The Russian MP is convinced that any discussion of Tymoshenko's case in PACE at this stage will be considered as pressure on Ukrainian court.

PACE session has been opened today in Strasburg, during which Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostiantyn Hryshchenko will deliver a speech as Chairman of the Committee of Ministers.
