Action "Poetry in metro" is being held in "Teatralna" metro station in Kyiv, the goal of which is to promote modern Polish poetry, ForUm's correspondent reported.

Poetry is printed on big posters and glued straight on the columns of the station hall. Poetry of such Polish poets as Julia Szychowiak, Jerzy Jarniewicz, Jacek Gotovara, Ernest Bryll, Czeslaw Milosz and others is translated into Ukrainian.

The project has been carried out with the support of the Kyiv city administration and at the expense of Polish ministry of culture.

"It's great. You can learn something new while waiting for a train. Poetry has a positive effect on people," a Kyiv resident Olga Krolchuk believes.

Many passengers watch and read poetry with interest, while others, being in a hurry, think it is a commercial.

"Really? I though it is a commercial of a shampoo," one of the passengers said in a comment to ForUm.

Workers of the metropolitan are also happy that this is poetry, not another commercial.
