MP of Ukraine, member of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget, Petro Melnyk stated that payments of social benefits in 2012 will be provided at the expense of economic growth of Ukraine, and not by increase in debt. He said this during the round table meeting on "Results of the session week" at the Gorshenin Institute in Kyiv on Thursday, ForUm learned from the Party of Regions press office.

"Budget for 2012 differs significantly from the previous one. It is formed on the basis of the new Tax Code. Social benefits will be provided at the expense of economic growth, and not by loans," the MP said.

Petro Melnyk also said that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine aims to reduce the public debt, accumulated by the previous government, "LB.ua" informs.
