On 10 September a camera crew of the Pitch International TV Company completed shooting in Ukraine of a film about EURO 2012 – Destination Kyiv.

The Ukrainian capital was the last city for video material preparation. In Kyiv British director Julian Horbury and Australian cameraman Patrick Kobylka, in addition to notable sights, filmed the Olympic Stadium and recorded interviews with a specialist in preparing the arena for the Championship.

Authors of the film about the Championship interviewed the Kyiv City State Administration Deputy Head Anatoliy Holubchenko, who spoke about advantages and prospects of EURO-2012 for the Ukrainian capital. The curator of the EURO project in Kyiv said that the Championship is free advertising of Ukraine and its capital. ‘Once the world sees our nature, feels Ukrainian hospitality and makes sure that we are a part of Europe many foreign tourists will want to come to us again, even after the European Championship”, Mr. Holubchenko told the Information Centre Ukraine 2012.

The Pitch International also interviewed tournament director Markiyan Lubkivskyi. British TV Company was the most interested in the benefits of holding the Championship for our country and whether Ukraine will prepare such a serious global forum in time. According to Mr. Lubkivskyi, the EURO will accelerate the development of the country. “If it were not for the Championship, most large-scale infrastructure facilities would appear in Ukraine in a few years at best, but not today”, the head of the Local Organizing Committee said.

In Kyiv the camera crew from Pitch International also met with the friends of EURO – Serhiy Bubka, Leonid Buryak and Haytana (Gaitana Essami).

Before the shooting in Kyiv, the TV workers gathered footage in Lviv (on 5 and 6 September), Donetsk (on 3-4 September) and Kharkiv (on 31 August – 2 September).
