Judge Rodion Kireyev announced the end of the judicial examination
and transition to the stage of judicial debate in the trial of former
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
"The court has considered all the motions submitted through the court office. The court announces the judicial investigation over. The court will now move to court debates," announced Judge Kireyev.
In her turn Tymoshenko said that the defense may refuse to participate in court debates if her lawyers aren’t given time to prepare.
“If you don’t give me and my lawyers time to prepare to debate we will make a public statement that we refuse to participate in debates,” Yulia Tymoshenko said in court.
The Judge adjourned the trial until 9:30 am on Monday, September 12 "to provide time to prepare for court debates."
Judge Rodion Kireyev also announced that photo and video coverage of the trial will be allowed only during the announcement of the verdict.
