NATO will provide assistance in maintaining security during the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship in Ukraine, Ambassador Dirk Brengelmann, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, told reporters in Kyiv Thursday.

"This month a group of NATO experts is arriving in Ukraine to develop a pack of necessary measures for assistance in maintaining security during the 2012 football championship," he said.

Brengelmann specified that his department is working with a number of  Ukrainian ministries and departments, but did not give any details regarding the possible agreement, saying that it is too early to speak about results.
