The Ukrainian Interior Ministry is training law enforcement officers and special forces troops to quell and disperse mass demonstrations in Kyiv, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the Front for Change Party.

In this regard, party leader Arseniy Yatseniuk appealed to the interior minister and the prosecutor general.

"In an MP appeal to the interior minister, Yatseniuk says that he obtained information that the Interior Ministry was conducting in some regions, in particular, Zhytomyr region, work on the rapid training of law enforcers and special police units to break up demonstrations, as well as on the redeployment of these units to Kyiv," reads the statement.

Yatseniuk demanded that the minister formally respond whether the ministry passed a respective order to redeploy these units to the Ukrainian capital.

As reported, Ukraine's former premier Yulia Tymoshenko was arrested last Friday in Pechersky District Court during the hearing of the case against her and taken to the Lukyanivka detention facility. Also on Friday, the ex-premier's supporters and lawmakers decided to launch a protest against her arrest for an indefinite period of time.
