Some 65-70 percent of Ukrainian roads, which are being repaired for the Euro 2012 European football championship, have been completed, according to the Ukraine-2012 Information Centre.

"As of today, about 70% of repairs of the road network for the Euro 2012 have been accomplished in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lviv. Kyiv and Donetsk lead the pack in the [roads] construction with more than 70% accomplished," the deputy director of the Infrastructure Department of Ukraine's National Agency for the preparations for Euro 2012, Volodymyr Bondarenko, said in an interview with the Ukraine-2012 Magazine, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Bondarenko said that in 2010 and the first half of 2011, they completed the repairs of the main streets in the host cities, which link the Euro 2012 facilities - airports, stadiums and hotels.

According to him, Kyiv has focused on the repair of the roads connecting the left and right banks of the Dnipro River, since Boryspil Airport is located on the left bank and other facilities mostly on the right bank.

Donetsk has completed the repairs of the city's main lines, driveways to the airport and the stadium; roads to the bypass highway are being repaired.

Bondarenko said 60% of roads were ready in Kharkiv and Lviv.
