President Viktor Yanukovych demands ensuring a uniform approach to forming utility services tariffs, he said at the meeting with Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing Anatoliy Blyzniuk and representatives of the National Regulatory Commission for Utilities.

The President noted that utility tariffs should exclude the positions for which the state must be paying. "We must not shift problems from the state to the people... This and next year we shall see what can we take on the books. We must do this so that people were not paying extra money," he said.

President Yanukovych stressed the importance of strict accounting of utility services provided by the state or enterprises of different ownership forms that work in this field.

Viktor Yanukovych, moreover, stressed the need to finalize the concept of public policy in the area of housing. He drew the attention of National Regulatory Commission for Utilities members to the need to include a number of provisions in the 2012 State Budget to improve the situation in housing.

According to the President, national housing must switch to European quality standards.
