Land reform will help attract about 7 million hectares of arable land into economic circulation. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the State Land Agency Mykola Kaliuzhny, UKRINFORM reported.
"Now there is a problem of non-use of large areas of escheated inheritance land, plots unclaimed for different circumstances, and this land soon, after adoption of the laws, will be transferred to state ownership," Kaliuzhny said.
In Ukraine there is a moratorium on the sale of agricultural land.
In total, Ukraine has more than 60 million hectares of land, including 41.8 million hectares of arable land, of which plowing land makes 33 million hectares.
