Crimea is one of the favorite places for tourists from the People's Republic of China, and the Chinese authorities are interested in increasing their number, Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Zhang Xiyun said at a meeting with First Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers Pavlo Burlakov, according to the press service of the Crimean government.

According to Zhang, Crimea is visited by 6,000 Chinese tourists per year, "but this is not the ceiling, so we will work in this area in order to increase the number of our tourists." He also said that Crimea was not only a resort for China, but also an attractive region in which it is possible to implement joint investment projects.

Zhang asked the Crimean Council of Ministers to provide assistance to Chinese businesses that come to work on the peninsula, as well as promote the opening of the office of the Chinese consulate general in Crimea. Burlakov, in turn, said that a delegation of the Crimean government planned to visit China this autumn. He said that this visit would open up prospects for the development of further economic and cultural relations between the regions.
