Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko believes President Viktor Yanukovych deliberately avoided talking about the status of his campaign promises in his annual address before parliament.

"What we didn’t hear was a detailed and clear report on which promises made by the president during this election campaign were fulfilled. We didn’t hear a single report on any of his billboard messages because nothing was done," Yulia Tymoshenko told reporters today in the Verkhovna Rada.

In her opinion, the citizens of Ukraine were given no answers to the most pressing problems. "The country heard nothing of what it expected," she said.

"Everyone today understands that the economic and social situation is difficult. Today the life of every family is becoming so economically and socially difficult that they were hoping to hear from the president his answers to how to fight inflation, how to prevent small business from losing jobs, how to make sure that seniors after paying their utility bills have money for food," she said.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the government is ignoring issues in other areas that concern people because all their attention is focused on increasing their personal wealth and distributing state resources among themselves.

"There are many issues in the humanitarian sector that are of concern because everything Ukrainian, everything that is dear to the hearts of Ukrainians is simply being destroyed. People were also hoping to hear what will happen with our foreign policy strategy. But, unfortunately, the country heard nothing," she added.
