The work of certain casinos is to be resumed in Ukraine by EURO 2012, after a respective law is adopted in the coming months, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov said at a press conference on Tuesday, UKRINFORM reported.
He said that there were no contradictions between the Infrastructure Ministry and the Finance Ministry on this issue.
"We envisaged in a separate law the functioning of casinos only in five-star hotels, and only classical types of games, without any slot machines," Kolesnikov said.
The vice-premier said that the bill would most likely be tabled in parliament in April 2011, and, if approved, it would be submitted to the president for signature.
The law banning gambling business in Ukraine entered into force in late June 2009. It is in effect until the adoption of a special law that will allow doing such business in specially created zones.
