In Singapore, President Viktor Yanukovych visited the Toa Payoh Town public housing estate.
The President has talked to the Housing and Development Board leadership, watched a video presentation about the Board’s work and toured some display apartments of the district.
In an interview to Ukrainian journalists President Yanukovych underscored the importance of studying the Singaporean experience of building affordable public housing. He noted that positive result of this program in Singapore was made possible by the fruitful cooperation between the Government and the Housing and Development Board, as well as thanks to the strict observation of legislation.
"Ukraine has big problems with housing provision, especially for the
socially unprotected citizens. So we hope that our experts examine the
experience of Singapore in this area in and the possibility of its
implementation in Ukraine in detail," Viktor Yanukovych said.
