The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is ready to submit to the court a criminal case against leader of the Batkivschyna Party and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
An investigator in charge has delivered a relevant letter to Tymoshenko's lawyer Bohdan Ferents on March 10 to let his clients study it, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Friday.
The letter says that on February 21, 2011, Tymoshenko was informed about the completion of the pre-trial investigation into a criminal case on charges of abuse of power and abuse of office, which resulted in serious consequences and violations of budget legislation. According to the protocol declaring the end of the pre-trial investigation, Tymoshenko said she wanted to study the materials of the case together with her lawyer, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
The Prosecutor General's Office is ready to send the criminal case to the court immediately after the defendant and her lawyer complete studying the materials, the PGO said.
