Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko is demanding that the management of the National Bank of Ukraine report the amount of money issued in 2010, in accordance with the law on access to public information passed by parliament.

"I know that after my statement yesterday there was an outburst of emotion from the National Bank and Azarov’s government. Therefore, I would like to ask the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, particularly given the adoption of the law on access to information that our political party initiated, to officially, publicly, openly state how much money was printed in 2010," Yulia Tymoshenko said today after her latest interrogation at the Prosecutor General’s Office, according to the official website.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that she will demand that the Prosecutor General’s Office open an investigation into the unnecessary emission of money in order to establish who in the government is responsible for the current financial and credit policy. "If the head of the National Bank truly controls National Bank policy, if he realizes the importance of the position he holds, then he will release figures on the amount of money printed in 2010," she said.

"Don’t get the impression that I don’t understand who today is in charge of the prosecutor’s office and whether they will understand the circumstances of the case. I have no illusions. I simply want to see all the accomplices to this crime here in the Prosecutor General’s Office. If they’re going to cover up a crime of such magnitude as the unnecessary printing of money that can destroy Ukraine economically and financially, then they are all complicit in this crime," she added.
