Ukraine intends to invite Israeli specialists to help the country provide security for the 2012 European championships, the Ukrainian president said on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Donetsk, Kharkov and Lvov, will host half of the Euro UEFA 2012 games. The other matches will take place in the Polish cities of Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, and Gdansk.

"Israel's experience in this direction is very interesting for us. Specialists and experts are ready to cooperate. We needed agreements and we have reached them during the talks," President Viktor Yanukovych said at a news conference with Israeli President Shimon Peres, RIA Novosti reported.

President Peres, along with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, is currently on a four-day official visit to Ukraine's capital of Kiev.

"We will definitely do everything that depends on us in this direction. We will be participating in all activities of security provision," Peres said.

Ukraine's co-hosting of the 2012 tournament has been a constant source of concern for UEFA, which insists that the country provide maximum security for football fans.
