President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych is confident that the most important result of the Fourteenth EU-Ukraine Summit was presentation of the Visa-Free Travel Action Plan by the EU, he said at a press conference in Brussels Monday.

"I regard that as a common success of Ukraine and the EU. We have finally reached the straight path towards removing visa barriers," he said.

President Yanukovych stressed that the Action Plan, which outlines a series of internal reforms required for introduction of visa-free travel, is a serious challenge for the Ukrainian authorities.

"I understand that it will not be easy to realize, but we will do it in 2011," Viktor Yanukovych said.

Answering journalists' questions, the President stressed that the Ukrainian side is fully aware of level of responsibility in accomplishing the tasks of this roadmap. This document, the President said, reflects clear conditions under which Ukraine will reach its goal of visa-free travel.

"Undoubtedly, we have to do these steps in the near future – most likely in the first half of 2011," Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We are already working on these reforms and I hope we will accomplish this task. And then, the ball will be on the European side," Viktor Yanukovych added.
