Government officials are abusing their authority and financing their
family-owned businesses with money from the State Budget, says Yulia
Tymoshenko.
"If you read the investigative reports, you learn that a week ago 370 million hryvnias was transferred to two families that represent that government: First Vice Prime Minister Kliuyev and the head of the Donetsk oblast Blyzniuk split the amount evenly and those 370 million hryvnias are now gone," Yulia Tymoshenko said today while speaking to small business owners protesting in Kyiv against adoption of the tax code.
She also referenced another investigative report that revealed that funds from the State Budget had been transferred to a structure belonging to Prime Minister Azarov’s son.
"The prime minister transferred 150 million hryvnias to his son's account. These documents weren't made up. The full amount was transferred," she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko underscored that taxpayer money is being spent to improve the welfare of government officials’ families rather than to fund social services and are other legitimate programs.
