Verkhovna Rada may adopt the 2011 state budget on December 23-24, Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn told a press briefing, according to UKRINFORM.
"It is planned that on December 2-3 the Verkhovna Rada will examine the draft state budget for 2011 in first reading and on December 23-24 we will finally adopt the state budget for 2011," he said.
As known, the Government intends to submit the draft budget for 2011, developed on the basis of the new Tax Code. Earlier, Volodymyr Lytvyn reported that the Verkhovna Rada will consider the document in second reading on November 16.
The draft state budget for 2011 was tabled in Parliament on September 13, but the Verkhovna Rada Chairman returned it to the Cabinet. Lytvyn referred to the parliament's previous decision, under which the 2011 state budget should be developed on the basis of the Tax Code, which has not yet been passed by parliament.
