Despite the restoration of good relations with Russia, we have controversial issue, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the 7th Meeting of Vienna Economic Forum, taking place in the Republic of Austria, Cabinet's press office reported.

"We have restored good relations with Russia, in particular, the turnover went up to the pre-crisis level, but we still have a number of controversial issues," Mykola Azarov said.

He specified that the first such issue is the formula for determining the of Russian gas price, embedded in a joint agreement signed by the previous Ukrainian government in January 2009.

"We are also concerned about the construction of South Stream, Russian gas supply system to Southern Europe (including Austria), which together with the Nord Stream will reduce about half load of the Ukrainian gas transport system,"  the Head of Ukrainian Government said. "For us, this loss is extremely disadvantageous option," he added.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine informed about the initiative of the Ukrainian side together with Russia and the EU to reconstruct Ukraine's gas transport system in south direction. "As a result of reconstruction - Mykola Azarov said – to the "South Stream" end point - Burgas - you can transport the same volume of gas, but the project would be six times cheaper.

"I know about the Austrian-Russian negotiations on gas issues, but I ask to treat our idea constructively" – the PM appealed.

According to him, "Ukraine and Austria have good relationship, and never had any conflicts."
