Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on Election related Issues, Marat Sarsembayev has a positive impression of the October 31 local elections in Ukraine. He stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, UKRINFORM reported.

He noted that the parties were represented at electoral commissions in a good proportion: "I did not see the factors that could work in favor of the ruling party."

Sarsembayev also said that standards were met by the number of voters attached to one polling station.

The OSCE observers just had minor comments on the voting process and the method of sealing ballot boxes.

Earlier, observers from the European Parliament noted that the day of elections in Ukraine was calm, but expressed the need to improve electoral legislation.
