Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that in order to strengthen the accountability of officials for corruption, the Ukrainian government will approve a respective resolution that will come into force simultaneously with the law on the principles of preventing and combating corruption, UKRINFORM reported, citing the information and communications department of the government's secretariat.

"We'll not only oversee the dismissal of individuals involved in corrupt activities in connection with bringing them to justice for corruption, but also make sure that such citizens no longer hold public service jobs," he said at a government meeting on Wednesday, noting that this concerns representatives of the central and local executive authorities, as well as local administrations.

Azarov said that such a procedure was generally accepted practice. He added that officials should clearly realize that the state would not give a second chance to work in public service to those involved in corrupt activities.
