The Ukrainian Economy Ministry had proposed reducing the list of goods the prices of which are controlled by the state, Economy Minister Vasyl Tsushko said.
"The idea is at the level of amending a Cabinet of Ministers resolution," he said, UKRINFORM reports.
The minister noted that it was necessary to make a final political choice in order to approve such amendments: abandon any attempts to control the prices of all goods or keep control over the prices of goods included in the minimum basket of consumer goods.
The minister said that keeping controls over the prices of goods that are in the highest demand for those with low incomes would help prevent sudden price fluctuations.
