The opposition political forces don’t plan to unite into a single party to run in future elections, said Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of Batkivshchyna.

"Nobody plans to unite in the traditional sense of this process. In difficult times Ukraine needs clear coordination. Coordination doesn’t mean the leadership of an individual political force or leader. Coordination means the ability of politicians to sit down to a round table, without a leader and pressure on the decision-making process, and simply coordinate their actions so that the opposition can counter the processes taking place today in Ukraine," Yulia Tymoshenko said on an evening program on the Inter channel, according to BYuT press office.

The leader of Batkivshchyna recalled that she proposed that those political forces that consider the policy by the new government to be a betrayal of Ukraine’s national interests to join efforts as equals to fight for democracy. "I don’t believe that leadership, or ratings or ambition should matter right now. That’s why I made the offer of doing this without a leader. This isn’t just a circumstance, but a major challenge facing Ukraine that requires that we sit down and coordinate efforts," she added.

"Naturally, in the next elections everyone will run independently and will be competing for public support – this is democracy. If you say unite into one party, one bloc or union then you’re putting an end to democracy. I’m urging coordination and trust that my colleagues will support me," said Yulia Tymoshenko.
