New terminal, runway at Donetsk airport to be commissioned in November 2011

Within the framework of his working visit to Donetsk region President Viktor Yanukovych visited the reconstruction site of Donetsk airport, presidential press office reported.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine on Euro 2012 Borys Kolesnikov informed the President on the construction. He said in particular that Donetsk airport runway would be one of the best in the world, being 4 km long and capable of accepting aircrafts of any size and in any weather conditions.

As for the new terminal building, it is planned that roofing works will be complete by the end of this summer and all facilities built and equipment installed by the end of the year. According to Borys Kolesnikov, in November 2011 the new terminal and runway will be operational. The capacity of the terminal will be 1100 people per hour.

Within the framework of the visit President Yanukovych is also scheduled to attend the first Divine Liturgy in the new Church of St. George in Yenakiyeve and meet with veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Horlivka.
