Opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko has announced that BYuT will insist an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada be held in connection with the extension of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s lease to stay in Ukraine.

"We’re inviting deputies from all factions to come to collect signatures to hold an extraordinary session," Yulia Tymoshenko told a briefing.

Yulia Tymoshenko believes the opposition forces should unite to defend Ukraine’s national interests from unconstitutional actions by President Viktor Yanukovych.

Tymoshenko noted that BYuT will submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution "On neutralizing the signing by Yanukovych of a document extending the Black Sea Fleet’s stay in Ukraine."

The leader of the united democratic coalition, is also calling on Ukraine's opposition forces to sign an agreement on unity to defend Ukraine’s interests.

"I’m appealing to the leaders of all opposition parties: let’s start the process to sign a joint agreement on defending Ukraine in this difficult period," Yulia Tymoshenko said during the briefing.
