The Ukrainian Constitutional Court has ruled that independent MPs have the right to take part in the formation of a coalition in parliament. The court has therefore confirmed the legitimacy of the existing coalition in parliament.
The court issued a relevant ruling on April 6 and CC chairman Andriy Stryzhak announced the decision on April 8, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
"Independent MPs, specifically those who are not members of the parliamentary factions that initiated the formation of a coalition in the Ukrainian parliament, have a right to take part in the formation of a coalition of parliamentary factions in the Ukrainian parliament," the Constitutional Court's decision reads.
