At a meeting with Ukrainian intellectuals on Wednesday Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said early parliamentary elections might be held soon.
Yushchenko called on the intellectuals to continue work on popularizing national ideas and the European choice.
"I link this work not only to the second round of the presidential election, but also to parliamentary elections that will soon be an inseparable part [of the political process] in the next months," he said.
Commenting on the results of the first round of the election, Yushchenko said that the subject of national ideas had not come to grief.
According to some experts and analysts, early elections to the Verkhovna Rada will take place after the presidential election.
