President Viktor Yushchenko met Ukrainian
neurosurgeon, MD, Prof. Andriy Slyusarchuk to discuss the establishment
of Brain Institute in Ukraine.
The aim of the research
institute will be ensuring an integrated approach to detection and
treatment of brain diseases and introduction of modern methods of
prevention and treatment, the presidential press-service has
reported.
The head of state issued a decree envisaging the creation of Brain Institute as the main scientific-research institution on defining the priority directions of brain research, conducting fundamental and applied researches in neurology, physiology, psychiatry and neurorehabilitation, developing, introducing and implementing brain research programs, advanced technologies in this area.
