Google has opened the Flu Trends service for
Ukraine. The company will monitor search queries from Ukraine with the
word "flu" and compare the received results with official data on the
epidemics. The latest information is available on the project's website.
Flu Trends was launched last November when Google found a relationship between the number of search terms and official reports on the spread of the epidemics. Moreover, people started to search information linked to the flu before the start of the epidemics in the region. Google believes that service users may determine the level of the epidemics set at the present moment and what measures they have to take. According to Flu Trends, the current level of flu activity in Ukraine was marked as "moderate."
