The 10th meeting of heads of border guard agencies of the Black Sea countries has ended in Yalta (Crimea) with delegations from Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine, National radio reported.

Participating in the forum were also chairman of the Federal Maritime Customs Police of Germany and head of maritime boundary division of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (Frontex).

According to the participants, regional cooperation of the Black Sea countries allows to better counter illegal activity in the water area of the Black Sea, including safeguarding sea bioresources, combating poaching of fish, coordinating search and rescue operations and protecting marine environment. The meeting of heads of border guard agencies of the Black Sea countries has been held since 2000. The first meeting took place in Istanbul.
