Ukraine is ready to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Kyiv, Deputy Premier Ivan Vasiunyk has told a news conference on Thursday, NRCU reported.

He underlined that despite the economic crisis, Ukraine will hold the Junior Eurovision at high level. According to Vasiunyk, the matter first of all concerns a financial support for the contest, in particular, UAH 15 million (USD 1 - UAH 7.99) has been allocated from the Stabilization Fund for hosting the Junior Eurovision.

For his part, Vasyl Ilashchuk, the President of the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTCU), said an opening ceremony for the contest will take place November 15 at the Ukrainian House, and the final concert will be held November 21 at the Kyiv Sport Palace. In his words, the contest has one innovation - there will be a parallel Internet-broadcasting in English at the contest official web-site.

Young singers from 13 countries will participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Ukraine has number ten seed at the contest.
