The economic housing should
appear no later than in 2011 and satisfy the population's demand for
the real estate, the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Construction
Association (UCA) came out with such a proposal.
"Now, there is a great
demand for the housing. Otherwise, in 2011 we can face the fact that
demand exceeds supply", UCA head Lev Partskhaladze said explaining that
the matter concerns a standard housing of the economic class by the
type of the Stalinkas and Khrushchevkas.
"We envisage apartments from
25 to 100 meters. The term of exploitation will be like with the
'Khrushchevskas' - up to 50 years. And the cost should be fixed in the
hryvnia without fail, so that it does not depend on the currency rate",
Partskhaladze said.
At 2009-end, the Regional Development and Construction Ministry forecasts a 50% drop in putting the housing into service.
