The leader of the eponymous bloc, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, has called on democratic forces to unite and nominate one candidate during the upcoming presidential election, ForUm informs, referring to Interfax-Ukraine.
"I'd like the national democratic camp also to nominate one [presidential] candidate now, [as happened during the previous election in 2004]," she said at an annual meeting of the World Congress of Ukrainians in Lviv on Thursday.
Tymoshenko said that the upcoming presidential election would be "very difficult."
"[The election] will be very difficult, even more difficult than in 2004," she said.
The next presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for January 17, 2010.
