Kyiv aims to build constructive relations with Moscow, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said in Ovidiopol on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

"Relations with Russia are strategically important for us," he said.

He added that there are several issues that require urgent attention, such as the demarcation of state border and the future of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.

Yuschenko also said that everything was being arranged in Kyiv to welcome the new Russian ambassador to Ukraine.
