The lawyer of former Interior Ministry General Oleksiy Pukach, Serhiy Osyka, has described an order by Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to report to him on the course of investigation as "putting pressure on the investigation."
"I think that the president's statements can be considered as signs of pressure on the investigation," he said at a press conference on Friday, Kyiv Post reported.
He said that the SBU has no authority to be involved in the investigation process.
Apart from that, Osyka said that the president's instruction to the SBU is "the influence of somebody's interest in this issue."
