The Russian corporation TVEL is ready to found the enterprise of strategic function for construction of the nuclear fuel plant in 2009. The company is ready to assign the necessary funds for financing of the project in 2009 and 2010, MIGnews reported, referring to Kommersant-Ukraine.
As a reminder, earlier the memorandum on the mutual understanding between the state corporation Rosatom and Fuel and Energy Ministry of Ukraine had been initialed. The basic principles of the project realization had been mentioned. The document has not been signed yet. The term of the signing is July 15.
If the enterprise of strategic function is founded, TVEL is ready to start the development of technical and economic optimization this year. The plant is planned to place in operation towards the term that is necessary to provide new power generating plants at the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant with fuel. The third and fourth generating plants are expected to equip according to the Russian technology – like two the first ones.
