The Verkhovna Rada has appointed the date for the Presidential election for January 17, 2010, the ForUm’s correspondent informs
399 out of 442 MPs registered in parliament voted for this law.
MPs also also charged the parliamentary committee on state building and local authorities to prepare draft changes to the law on Presidential election in order to decrease the election campaign term from 120 to 90 days.
The committee should submit this law last plenary week of June 2009.
