The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine forwarded Viktor Yushchenko an interpellation concerning necessity to remove the NBU chairman Volodymyr Stelmakh from his position, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
319 out of 433 MPs registered in the session hall voted for this interpellation.
The interpellation was initiated by PR member Yaroslav Sukhyi and OU-PSD member Yuriy Karmazin.
MPs demand the President urgently dismiss Volodymyr Stelmakh because he does not provide policy which would stable national currency, inappropriate policy as to the bank sector and ignoring the demands of the Civil Code of Ukraine.
As a reminder, on December 26, 2008 the VRU adopted a resolution expressing distrust to Volodymyr Stelmakh.
