On Sunday, May 17, in accordance with the corresponding decree of Viktor Yushchenko, Ukraine honored memory of victims of political repressions, the ForUm’s correspondent informs..
On that day the memorial actions with participation of the Head of the State Viktor Yushchenko took place in the territories of the National historical-memorial reserve “Bykovnansky graves”. A numerous meetings-requiems, ceremonies of flowers laying to monuments and graves of burial of the victims of the political repressions took place.
On May 17, the state flags of Ukraine were lowered; the entertainment actions and programs were restricted.
On occasion of this date, The PM Yulia Tymoshenko signed a resolution of creation of the state museum “Memorial of memory to victims of Holodomors of Ukraine”.
