Kyiv-based Poryv Company, which manages Metro-Jackpot gaming clubs, has promised to pay UAH 100,000 in financial compensation to the families of those killed and UAH 50,000 to the families of those injured in a fire that erupted in a gambling hall in Dnipropetrovsk early on Thursday.

"This is the only such case in the entire period of the work of Poryv Ltd. All of the company's gaming clubs have always operated in line with the safety standards specified in the country's laws," Poryv Director General Oleksandr Sandalchuk told Interfax-Ukraine.

He also said that the company's leadership had already left for the site of the accident and that the company has formed a commission to investigate the cause of the fire.
