Following Ukrainian-Hungarian talks President Viktor Yushchenko and President László Sólyom of Hungary held joint press conference on Tuesday, president's press office informed.

Speaking to journalists President Yushchenko complimented the meeting at which sides discussed a broad range of subjects in bilateral and international relations.

President Yushchenko informed that during the talks both parties pointed to activeness of diplomatic and cultural relations between the states and growing dynamics of trade-economic cooperation.

He also said that sides had discussed some questions of economic cooperation, particularly supplies of energy resources to Hungary. Here President Yushchenko said that Ukraine as transit party fully abides by its international obligations regarding supplies of gas to Europe.

Beside that sides have analyzed implementation of Local Boarder Movement Agreement between Ukraine and Hungary. “These visa regulations may become an example for other European neighbors of Ukraine,” said Victor Yushchenko.

Ukrainian and Hungarian delegations discussed joint efforts in preservation of ecology of Carpathians. President Yushchenko invited President Sólyom to take part in the International Scientific Conference dedicated to that problem that is scheduled to take part in Uzhgorod in September 2009.

Also participants of the talks dedicated their attention to discussing development of humanitarian cooperation between the states, particularly cultural and educational needs of Hungarian minority in Ukraine.

Separately President Yushchenko thanked Hungarian side for installing the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Budapest in 2007 and for establishment of the monument to Holodomor victims that would be solemnly opened on April 29.
