President Viktor Yushchenko held a consultative meeting with Ukrainian bankers dedicated to situation in financial sector on Wednesday. president's press office informs.
Speaking at the event President Yushchenko said that the situation is gradually normalizing and such facts as stabilization of Hryvnya exchange rate, decline in speculations at currencies market, decrease in flow-out of money from banks due to people withdrawing their deposits and positive foreign trade balance prove that. “Right now we are at the point where either improvement or depression begins,” he said.
Making comments on the problems that still remain to be solved President named cloudiness of operations of banks buying currency for their own needs and pressure from borrowers in foreign currencies. Here he again stressed that Ukrainian banking system should be loyal, positive and honest towards the clients.
