Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko calls on President Viktor Yushchenko and Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn to sign a joint address to the leadership of the International Monetary Fund and express readiness to collaborate and reform the economy. Tymoshenko said opening the session of the Cabinet.

“The Prime Minister initiates signing of a joint declaration to the IMF, in which we will inform its leadership that we are absolutely ready to cooperate and that we are taking preliminary steps on the economic reforms program,” Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out.

The Prime Minister considers it reasonable if the declaration is signed by the Verkhovna Rada Speaker Lytvyn, President Yushchenko, acting head of the National Bank of Ukraine and acting Finance Minister, UNIAN reported.

“The Prime Minister has already signed the joint declaration… I’m confident that our cooperation with IMF will continue in the coming days, will be successful and finish with a regular tranche in order to support the currency and financial markets of Ukraine,” she noted.
